got a 1972 cadillac eldorado radio play but cant hear anything faint sound, 8 track am/fm

hook up a speaker to it to see it your radio amp is blown, if not you have 4 bad speakers. Try banging the front of the radio, loose wires maybe

also, check if your ground is hooked to the battery, i had a problem with my truck last nght, and hooked a ground wire up to the battery and ran it to the radio, and now the speakers work 100% better. also check your spark plugs if that doesnt work. the cheap spark plugs cause the radio to fade and crackle...

Hello. I had the exact same issue on my '72. It played very faint music from the radio itself but nothing from the speakers. Turns out all 4 speakers were no good. Installed 4 new speakers and it worked great after 44 years!
