It's probably just an upgraded version . If the rubber gasket matches and the hole is the same size you should be good to go .
It should have worked. The numbers are what's important. 51042 is a Wix part number. The original AC Delco part number is PF46E. In Napa world that would be a Napa Gold 1042 or a 21042 Napa Silver filter. Jim
