Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mitshubishi gallant, i was changing my battery and
unfortunately the socket fell in front of battery. In front of
battery LH side there is a small box like structre with few
holes, went into one of these holes. Dont know what holes
are these. Is it safe to drive the car?

If u can see the socket u can take a telescoping magnet and retrieve it. And yes it is safe to drive. There have been many cars I've worked on that have swallowed sockets... never to be seen again.

Put some Vaseline on the battery terminals to prevent corrosion as well! Jim

I would probably buy a new socket instead of spending a lot of time trying to find and retrieve the lost one.
