Powertrain Fault

I have a Ford Explorer 2008. Couple of months ago the car experienced the
burst of oil connection in the radiator and the radiator  was full of
transmission oil. I got the radiator replaced and the transmission was
cleaned up as I did not have any problem upto that time. I got the
transmission oil changed for couple of times during next two weeks. One day
I parked my car in uphill position and when tried to dislodge the parking gear
the gear stick was stuck.With the help of couple of people we pushed the car
back and forth and the gear stick got operational. Today on my way to the
Office the wrench (spanner) sign appeared on the dashboard. Need to know
what is the problem and what should I do with the car?

Well for one, you should always set your parking brake and put it in 'park' BEFORE you ever let off your brakes. That way the weight of your vehicle rests on the parking brake and not on your transmission. I do it every single time whether I'm on a hill or flat ground, and I have never had a transmission issue with any vehicle. I guess that will have to be for future reference though.

Since the spanner light is on, you can scan the SUV for the OBDii trouble codes that are stored in the system. That will tell you where to look. The gear lever doesn't sound like it is related to your other repair, though it might. Once the clutch packs in the transmission get wet with water or coolant, they swell and never are the same, but that wouldn't effect the lever. Have a garage check it out for you.
