Repair Shops have Complete AC machines that will leak test it. As long as there is no leak, they can charge it. Anything else is dangerous. The cans sold over the counter are very dangerous and do not set level correct. Our ac machine is a Robin Air Complete AC Machine.

If the AC system is out of refrigerant there is a leak which must be fixed before charging the system.

Go to Walmart and buy a kit. Then charge the A/C with it. There are two different sized fill or drain valves and if memory serves the larger one is for filling the A/C with refrigerant. Which ever one fits. Plus the better kits have a pressure gauge to check prior to discharging the refrigerant and afterwards.

Ive had the fill hose blow up from connecting to the wrong port, so u better watch videos. With each different car, I watch a video. The hose exploding was scary.

When Refrigerant is added, the ac dial must be turned to the Max in order to charge the refrigerant, I something lights up when you turn the dial all the way down, it's at maximum power.
