struggling to start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi gurus

Im at a definite end when it comes to patience.
I have a 2005 audi a4 2.0 no turbo!
For about 3 weeks now the car has been battling to
start especially on a cold start.
The car would just keep cranking for a good 30
seconds and only once i start to compress the gas
pedal would it start catching and after about a 10
seconds of pumping gas it would take.(sometimes
not at all)
Now i suspect 3 problems not sure which one or
are there other options
1.faulty coolant temp sensor
2.faulty cranckshaft sensor
3.faulty fuel regulator

I dont just want to go about replacing everything
since i hate purchasing expensive parts and still
have no results.

Any form of input would be greatly appreciated

Hi Tom I got hold of a pressure gauge so will be checking that out this following weekend, and to answer your question...No lights lit up at all..

I don't know alot about the later modal audis past 2004 but i do know Audis are very dependent on vacuum and back pressure. Check all your vacuum lines for leaks or breaks.I am pretty sure these engines have crank case breather hoses so do your self a solid and order some replacements. I remember going over a post that stated these had a some bad rubber connectors that disintigrate over time. and if this engine is anything like the 3.0L engines then if you have a broken breather your car starts to develop starting issues.
