dome lamps

Asked by jsfare Oct 10, 2008 at 08:33 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Astro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband just bought a used 2003 Astro Van.  The dome lamps will not go out when the dome override button is in the proper position(out).  We waited 10 minutes after we exited the car and the lights were still on.  Any ideas why?

Typically most interior lamps in a car have a three-way switch associated with them. The positions are off, always on, and on when the doors are open. Check to see if there is a switch next to the dome lamp. On some vehicles the dome lights are controlled by a switch near the headlamps. If all else fails I would check the owners manual. Cheers
