Question type: Car Customization

I am having H&R OEM springs installed on my 2007 MKV GTI (15,000 miles).  The springs are supposed to lower the car 0.75" all around.  The car has 18x8" wheels and 225/40R-18 tires.
  Would anyone who has made similar modificationsto their car's suspension be willing to write about the changes in handling, suspension compliance, and other factors?  Would you advise someone to replace their stock springs with the H&R's, or do you regret it?

Any time you put lowering springs on your stock struts you're probably not going to get the best ride quality. Especially H&Rs. They are generally pretty stiff springs. Your struts from the factory were paired really well with the springs attached and those springs were higher and softer. I would recommend picking up some bilsteins along with those springs or getting a cup kit designed to be paired together.

screw springs get coils they lower your car even more and they are adjustable

Coming from a guy who ran H&R w/ stock struts ... don't bother. yea its a quick fix for looks (dropped about 1.5" all around) but you'll notice struts gettin pretty soft pretty quick. Get yourself into a intermediate coilover kit thats not all that much more than the springs themselves if your going for looks. But if your going for performance, may i recommend some Koni FSD's to go with your springs : )
