problem with single cd stero

2004 maxx. once the cd is ejected the unit continues to run through the ejection prov=cess even with the ignition off. woke up to a drained battery. pulled the radio fuse which stopped the "ejecting". replaced the fuse but stero did not reset. still tried to eject a cd. (clicking sound). ideas?
