I am having the same problem after replacing the Starter. Before all I could get was a continuous ticking/tapping sound when the key was turned, now the engine turns over but it sounds like there is no fuel getting to the system. Can anyone help? Will post as my own question, just found this one before I did.

The inertia, or emergency shut off switch may have been tripped. This switch cuts off fuel supply to the engine in accidents, and in some cases can be tripped If the car has been "bumper tapped". If you don't know where it is located contact a dealer, or parts place like Autozone.

Sorry, I hit the post button before my response was completed. Another problem area for this car is the neutral safety switch which keeps the engine from starting while in gear - move the shifter around a couple times, then try starting it.
