If maintained correctly, and problems addressed as they occur, 26,000 miles is not a lot of miles even for a Cavalier. Check transmission fluid level often, as well as oil pressure. Rotate tires every 7,500 miles, and align in the spring when the roads have settled down, and possibly in the winter, though I go back and forth on this. Also check tire pressures when cold (no more than three miles of driving) twice a month. I like Mobil One Synthetic, but it's a waste of money to change it every 3,500 miles. I let mine go for at least 5,000 if not more, but I do mostly highway driving. Hope this helps. John
