My 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix temp hand rises after about 2 mins of sitting in park

I stopped my car last night waiting on
someone to answer the door for my son in
law and realized that my temp hand was
rising but as long as it wasn't in park it was
ok and when I'm driving it is ok why

I'm going to check when I can get to it and let you guys know it's raining out so it has crushed my plans
