Exhaust makes noise when accelerating

Only makes noise when first turning it on or when i accelerate?

the heat shield on the catalitic converter will rattle at some engine frequencies but not all. So maybe under acceleration but not while crusing. This happens on my 1997. next time I will buy the best cat converter or OEM instead of getting what ever the muffler shop puts on.
