1 Answer

Hello, The 1987 Firebird is a fun little car! The base engine was the most powerful engine yet in a third-generation Firebird. The available engines were a 2.8-liter V6 rated at 125 horsepower, a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 145 horsepower, 5.0-liter TPI V8 rated at 205 horsepower, and a 5.7-liter TPI V8 rated at 210 horsepower. (About 15 horses less powerful than similar Camaro trims due to a smaller intake, but this was hardly noticeable). As for T-tops, while these were not available as a factory part, you should be able to find a way to install. I would recommend visiting an auto parts site such as http://www.autopartswarehouse.com and seeing what they would recommend specific to the car you want to purchase. Best of luck! CarGrrl
