what is it when the oil indicator comes on and the message low oil pressure

It is a pretty important message that the engine could be at risk from lack of oil pressure. Turn engine off and check oil level at with the dipstick. Add is necessary. If problem continues, you may have a failing oil pump. Sometimes it is an incorrect message. The engine may in fact be okay, but be careful not to run an engine with no oil pressure. You will hear ticking and clicking if it's really at risk. Have it towed.
