With that many kilometers on it, it is a big risk. In English, that is over 200K miles and while some vehicles will still be good at that age and miles, it will pay you to investigate more than the vehicle's mileage. Bearings, bushings, brakes, suspension, AC system, cooling system, electrical system, original eng and trans, etc will all play a part. If you want it because of the style of the 3rd Gen Fbirds, there are many out there on the market to choose from, most in the $500-$800 range in the US. However, if it is pristine and well maintained, I suppose $1700 isn't all that bad.

Check for rust! If it is clean and rust free I might pay that much and then convert it to a V8.
