How can i tell what transmission i have in my 79 firebird. There are 3 deferent 350turbo versions

The nunber on the Trans Case is the Serial# or the build sheet. Most likely it is The Average 350 non lock up The lip seals and frictions and steels are all the same inside the trans. The only thing you need to look for is which is important is in those years is that Chevrolet is in a struggle to become the dominate one so you need to know if you have a chevy or a pontiac engine. The bell housings ar only 2 different bolt patterns chevy is for chevy the other is pont, buick, and olds. ~RSS~
