I drive a 06 HHR and it died at the light i started it
back up and when I push the gas pedal I hear a
light knocking or a clicking sound a few miles diwn
the road the car started smoking under hood i
pulled over and had it hauled home there is oil
everywhere.

I think it is dead and probably not worth fixing. Steer clear of Dodge cars and Korean cars next time.

Have a mechanic look it over and offer a repair cost before you decide to fix or scrap it.
