I have a 67 firebird. found an original cosole clock. To test, wired to battery. Hans started to revolve much to quickly. What am I doing wrong?

amperage shouldn't have anything to do with it. The clocks are only wound from the 12v power and are run from a spring, like old wind up watches. The original clocks were never very accurate, but I believe the speed can be adjusted.
