Tune it up, they were good for a lot faster than 55.

with a 3.0L V6 the number should be 155 m.p.h. . check the compression pressures, oil change it, and ask your favourite mechanic how much to make it run correctly? My 1600 JDM hardbody does over the ton.

Efi will crap out my 89 pathfinder went into limp mode and nothing i replaced fixed the problem, saw Weber 38/38 carburetor conversion done and truck was brought back to life, kit goes for 400 plus on ebay, did mine by buying parts seperate, slightly under 300 with simple mods, conversion tutorial on youtube for and 86, better gas mileage and power increase, love my truck so doing mine now just waiting for conversion Mounting Plate Set to arrive! hope your doesn't crap out like mine, good luck but have seen several D21's converted too due to performance and EFI issues
