My 89 240 starts fine but dead quickly even though I can add gas to keep it running but eventually it dies. I cleaned the air mass sensor, throttle body, change the distributor cap, plugs, plug wire.

my guess is fuel supply, filter, or pump or tank pump or tank pump filter.

I agree with the other fellow,one way to tell a bad air flow,unplug it and try to start,depending on the manufacturer,if it won't start at all unplugged,and will plugged up,this does not apply,check your fuel pressure or have it done.
