how should a valve cover gasket look for a '85 240

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

im replacing my valve cover gasket on my '85 volvo 240, and the only gaskets i can find don't have the arch for the fron of it. all of them that i can find are just rectangular. Is it suppose to be wider at the front end to fit it or is it suppose to come with an arch in it?

The same gasket can look slightly different from different manufactures, but the gasket should match the profile of the valve cover.

the wider front end makes the arch, you can use a little black silicone on ends too, helps with weepage.
