Check out Vanagon.com....I got tremendous help from there when I owned my 86 Kombi.

you can try also chilton and haynes manual's maybe on amazon or a book store

There really is no comparison to the Bentley manuals...but they're pricey... might find a used on on Amazon... hmmm...new is $75... that'd be my choice: http://www.amazon.com/Volkswagen-Vanagon-Official-Factory- Repair/dp/0837616654/ref=sr_1_2? ie=UTF8&qid=1335124733&sr=8-2
