Kharmann Ghia convertible looks nothing like a beetle...Looks more like a Triumph or MG.

Should be on a sticker on the body(likely on a door pillar) as Karmann manufactured the body's for the Convertibles between 1949-1980. I don't know if they were the only ones producing the bodys for the Cabriolets so I can't say for sure they produced your 76. Hope that helps
