Have a 1974 vw bug starter clicks but does not turn over,

replaced starter ,battery good been checked. help Please

sounds like the power cable coming from the battery is corroded, You can get a new one anywhere, but wolfsburg west or cip1 will have proper one, or you can try getting under it and pulling thecable off checking it out to see if there is excessive corrosion on it and also on the battery side (more than likely the culprit) Good Luck, I have a '66 and had the same issue!

also check your Grounds.. a poor Ground connection could also cause this
