Gen light on 1972 bug not coming on any more...

A friend of mine barrowed my 72 bug, had an issue with it and when I got it back the condenser was burned out and
the distributor was burned out, now I replaced those items and now my gen light doesn't come on and my car won't
start, do you think I need another gen or coil?

check if you have power to the coil first if you have replace the coil or check the gap on the points

with a set of feeler guages if you havent got any then use a rizla packet the top card which covers the rizla is roughly the right gap
