want to change 1972 steering column to a 1971

We have a 1972 VW SuperBeetle Convertable for a daughter she wants the look of the "old" vintage steering wheel... in order to do that we have to change the steering column so that the Vintage steering wheel will fit. Need advice!!!

Do you have the steering wheel yet? You may be able to simply attach the new wheel to the existing column. If not, you may be able to purchase an adapter. If you end up swapping the column, I would get a manual, as it's a somewhat involved job. Check to see that the '71 wheel will not fit before proceeding.
