Airbags For A 1970 VW BUG?

I am possibly getting a 1970 VW Bug as my first car. I am 15 years old and my dad
and I wanted to fix one up. The only thing keeping him from doing so was the fact
that the safety is very poor. Is there any way that I could install a steering wheel with
a built in airbag? Along with an airbag for the passenger. Thanks so much.

you could do it but it would just cost to much see if your dad will buy you the newer style bettle i think thay look cool and have the saftey
