transmission swap from 94 to 89

i have a 4.2 with broken 5 speed( i think its the p) and i have a 94 4cyl 5 speed will it swap?

It probable will swap, but the 4cyl 5 speed is a very weak transmission and probable won't last long behind the 4.2

unfortunately i really doubt it... most the time with those jeeps the output shafts are different.. if you had a 5 speed from another 6 cyl jeep it might work but the 4 cyl uses a much smaller transmission with different input and output shafts... But honestly you'll never know until you have the transmission out...
