A code P0340 could mean one of the following has happened: a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken -- the camshaft position sensor may have failed -- the PCM may have failed

Here are some things to try: Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit -- Check for continuity in the circuit wiring -- Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor -- Replace the camshaft position sensor as required -- Check the crankshaft position circuit as well -- Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required

I just had this camshaft issue on my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, I changed the camshaft, & crankshaft sensors, but the main issue was both connectors had exposed wires. I took my van to the dodge dealer, it cost me $500.00, which was ok cause we brought this new, it had never been in the shop other than scheduled maintenance, so we've gotten more than our monies worth as we've driven this from coast to coast several times & the van is still in great shape, I will not get rid of it, we love our van.
