Question type: Maintenance & Repair

86 Ram Charger w/360 4bbl ran great for 20 miles but began to spit and sputter and finally die, Jumped it ran for another mile and did the same thing. I tested the alternator and that passed but the battery failed. Can a bad battery cause this problem?

do you still have the mechanical fuel pump or did you install and electric?

Still a mechanical pump. I'm starting to lean towards a voltage regulator. I feel that when the regulator heats up to a certain temp it shuts down. I have tested the charging system and they all passed but A $15.00 dollar could be the culprit ( I hope ! )
