what kind of transmission

Extended Van has auto. is it cooled and can it handle a trailer?

Follow the trasnmission cooler lines - If one heads towards the front of the vehicle to a small little heater core looking thing it has a cooler. If it doesn not have one put it in BEFORE pulling. Pretty easily installed.

if its a ram van 1500, with a V8 it more than likely has a 46re or rh, RE=electronic RH=hydraulic, in which case yes it can handle a trailer as long as its in decent condition. if it only has a V6 it prolly has a 42RE or RH, either way if it has a v6 i wouldnt tow with it.
