My 1986 Dodge truck 4x4 with 318 is overcharging ( 18 volts ) , How do I get it ti charge normally ?

Took out coil and distributor and installed a OEM style electronic distributor .

Never mind , decided to go with Summit alternator . None of the local auto part stores could get me an alternator with a built in voltage regulator .
