Is it a good idea to disconnect the battery overnite and will this reset the computer without any additional problems occurring?

Asked by skodje Oct 09, 2015 at 07:51 AM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had no problems beyond a constant display of brake light and headlamp
malfunction prior to having 2 new tires mounted on the front w/ rotation of 1
original steer tire to the rear. Was told that possibly rust had been knocked
loose and the ABS could possibly be cleaned after which I would need to
reset the computer. Now I see the causes are varied and numerous.
Suggestion for first step on repair?

Edit question: Problem is display of ESP go to workshop. Car operating fine otherwise. Malfunction displays are false, lights working. No problems driving the car as usual.
