Question type: General

Im looking into buying a 1990 VW
Cabriolet. It would be my summer and
winter car. Could anyone tell me how these
cars do on the snow, and if the heater will
be able to keep me warm?

I have a friend that has a 91 cab. It handled great in the snow as long as the snow was not up to the lower lip( roughly 3 inches) but now that he has lowered the car it is useless, and from what I remember the heater did ok as long as you are not in a tank top and board shorts.

If the car is stock height, good. The top is well insulated, and they have a good heater. If you live where temps get very cold, a block heater is probably a good idea. Mine wouldn't start at -40 degrees unless it was plugged in over night.

Our mk6 tuned/stage 3+ R & our mk1Cabriolet are our Summer cars. We have a Toureg & a Passat Wagon for our winter cars because they’re both AWD.

You should get it & do a VR6 engine swap, & get another daily driver. My $0.02.
