how can i get into the glove box so i can repair broken latch

You might be able to fix the latch without getting into the box. You could rivet a picture hanging bracket to the box. You could also try using a wire hanger to get inside of the glove box. If you give more details to how the latch is broken that might help. You might want to contact volkswagen directly for help, because they frequently have questions like this. Good luck.
