My Passat reduces speed from 70 to below when driving at speed without prompt or using the breaks

Asked by tpass16 Jun 16, 2016 at 03:18 AM about the 2003 Volkswagen Passat

Question type: General

When driving in town at low speeds the problem is not noticeable. It occurs
when driving on the motorway at speeds above 60mph. It reduces speed
without using the breaks and only picks up speed again when it has reached
below 30mph.

Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down. AND have the fuel pressure checked at the fuel rail. A good basic start to diagnosing issues. Regards
