I have a 2006 VW Golf. The other day I went in the store and when I came out the car was dead and wouldn't start. No power. I popped the hood, made sure everything was connected to the battery and then it started again. 2 days later I drove to work with no problems, I got out, shut the door and went to lock it remotely and nothing, car was dead, no power. When I came out of work 5 hours late car started again. Today I went to get in it,put key in, everything came on, then when I went to turn the key car totally died. My battery and alternator is relatively new. Any ideas?

Have connections at starter checked making sure they are nice and tight. Also recheck starter bolts making sure they are tight also.

also make sure the ground cable connections to the engine and body are free of corrosion and secure. Removing, wire-brushing and reinstalling those grounds every other year or so would be a good plan.
