How do you get a saab 9-3 2004 to start , after running out of gas?

Asked by melissaf417 Oct 27, 2014 at 09:24 PM about the 2004 Saab 9-3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I ran out of gas then got a gas can and filled
that up with 10 dollars. My car was reading
that it still didn't have any gas I then pulled
the negative cable off of the battery for 10
seconds then tried to  start my car again. It
then showed I had 55 miles until the tank is
empty but my car still doesn't start.

My brother had the same problem with a Mercedes Benz his son ran it out of gas and it set for two years before we figured out what the problem was with it. We had to turn the key like we were trying to start the car, but not actually engaging the ignition , allowing the fuel pump to cycle, and pump all the air out of the lines , we done this about 5 to 10 times then car crank right up.
