The driver side window on my 2006 Galant will not function. Well, it will roll up/down slightly if I bang on the door panel. Do I need a whole new window lift kit or just replace the window motor?

If you can remove the motor with relative ease, it is likely the problem and cheap (less than $50) if you do it yourself. Look around the internet for helpful instructions. If the mounting is such that the whole unit is a better choice, than go with that.
