how do I check the aoutomatic fluid level

There is a Hex plug on the unit. Alot, if not all Car manufactures are going to this design, A "filled/lifetime" tranny. My only issues is that for almost all people you will have to take your car in to get the level checked, and it is almost impossible to add fluid for the avaerage guy. So if you think that you might be low, I would recommend that you take it in. If you want to check it yourself, the plug will be at the top/side of the tranny and the plug will have a "hex" pattern in it. Just like checking the rear Diff on rear wheel drive cars.
