Could be that you need a new battery or the Alternator is no good. You can have the battery load tested for free at most auto parts stores.

Alternator needs to be replaced that is why everything dim and windows mice slow it is not charging.

sure, all these are possible and probable, but after jump go straight to a battery charger, remove the battery, check its water, charge-up the battery, clean the clamps and the posts. thats the leading cause of nearly every question about electrical issues, and has to be maintenanced before readings make sense or diagnoses lose their lame debates. clean and verify connections and use a meter, run tests, check fuses, upgrade the charge fuse. tauruses, reportedly need a little beefier fuse substituted in their charge circuit, but also issues with connectivity at both ends of both cables are lacvking use of surface area to carry the current. measure it, you will see. dirt and oil can run into a connection, then bake or arc creating an insulated condition. basic electrical simple stuff, then test. when the battery's back in there, complete the rest of the tests. now you can believe the readings.

At that point, you might have fixed it without spending more than the tools and chemicals or fuse. the readings for the alternator can now be believed a little better. you want to think it could jump around or through the resistance, but sometimes, even a high amper like a taurus needs maintenance to function.

But if i remove the neg from battery and car dies is that not the alternator?

That could now be a damaged automotive computer. that is not a valid test, its a way of destroying things

an open in the chg. circuit fuse.....what would that mean? hmm... But now we could have a huge voltage spike to the cars brain. God help us.
