99 dodge ram 1500 318 2 wheel drive

My 99 dodge runs fine for a while then just shuts off while
driving. Loses power. Sometimes I can recrank in neutral
while coasting and other time I have to stop and let it sit
for a couple mins. I've read older posts but nothing new.
Just dont have the money to replace everything like
everyone else does.  Has anyone found out the culprit? Ive
resd trans plug, trans sensor, pcm, air intake sensor,
crankcase sensor, and many others. Any new info would
be nice

I changed the distributor cap and rotor and already sounds better. Will let y'all know if this fixed it. Had a buddy at work tell me he had one do the samething. Told me to try it and see or at least take it off and look at it. It looked bad on the inside even tho it looked good on the outside. Was corroded heavily. Cost me 31 dollars and some change. Just a little tight to get to but bot so hard to replace.
