My 2001 Dodge 1500 failed inspection because the OBD system was reponding. I took it to PepBoys who were unable to read it also after driving the truck.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took it to PepBoys who also couldn't read it after returning twice and driving
it all over for weeks. I had a check engine light on but it went off after I
disconnected the battery for other needed repairs. The light never came back
on. The truck seems to be running great. I just can't get past inspection
because the OBD is not responding. Should I disconnect the battery again. Is
there a battery that can be replaced. Is there a way to know if it is responding
without bringing it to PepBoys .
