2001 dodge ram 1500 battery drains after driving it for a 5 mins..whats causing this problem

Asked by Sam Feb 19, 2015 at 12:11 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: General

I baught 2 new batteries cause one is for
aux. I had the alternator checked from 2
different auto store, and it passed. After
driving it for about 6 miles the "battery
gauge" light would come on not the check
engine. When this happens my battery
starts to drain slowly, and when parked
over night , the battery is dead the next
morning.i took the aux bat out
disconnected it from isolator and just
hooked up the main cable that makes my
car run..alarm,alternator ground etc..and so
far the battery level is good but it drains
when i start to drive and reached a certain
point..btw my cables are in good conditon
and so is my starter..what is causing this
drain?pls help.
