stalling

Asked by Guru11PL Apr 24, 2017 at 01:42 AM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 2500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend has a 2002 2500ram diesel dodge.
While running down the road it just stalls. He
found that if he turns the ignition switch off
an on again the truck will run again for a
while then stall again. He can turn ignition
switch off an on again an it will run again.
The dealer said it was fuel pump an replaced
it but it didn't fix the problem. Any ideas on
what is causing this stalling problem an it's
fix? Tim Barnett timbarnettoc@yahoo.com

Without more information I could only guess but it might a fuel delivery problem. Is the CEL on?

No code lights present. No code lights on OBD-2 either. The cam senser was replaced an problem of stalling still exists.

Have you tried the key trick to get codes? On off three times and leave it on the third time - I think.

Talking to friend about your answers he mentioned that he has a power steering fluid foaming an overflowing problem, before an after he changed out power steering pump, lines an hydovac. Whats left that ciuld be causing this problem?

Not sure what you are asking but the power steering would have nothing to do with engine operation.

It doesn't have anything to do with stalling or engine its just another problem hes having with that same dodge. Hes ready to sell it an buy a tundra! But he would like to fix these problems Thanks!
