if you see a check engine sing , it probably is the oxygen sensor ,don't replace it just clean it with degreaser, good luck

Its your ignigtion muduel in the disbutor is getting bad. When they get hot they shut down when they cool off it will start back up and run fine untill they get to hot again. oxygen sensor will make them run rough but will not shut the motor down

yes the engine light comes on for a day then goes off it doesn't run rough tho i will check both hopeful its just that thank you both

If the check engine light comes on , find out the code and report back, (there is no ignition module in our distributors), only a hall effect switch, often called a pickup coil

Check the engines crankshaft position sensor . This sensor will get hot and shut the system down . It's location is tough to get to but I would replace it if you have close to 80,000 miles on the engine.Eventually it will fail and you could be on the freeway like I was when my Ram 360cu in died ,just like shutting off the key.

Bull ram and Ramsrus you are both on the right path pick up coil or the c sensor will do the same. That motor probly has the coil packs on it instead of the distbutor if thats the case problly the crankshaft or cam shaft positioner sensor
