Codes P0740, P1521, P0750, P0700

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A check engine light came on and when I took it to the repair shop, I was told the codes listed above came up. The day after the light came on, it wouldn't shift into high gear. The tranny fluid was changed 12K miles ago and is currently full, no leaks. Also, it shut off once a couple of weeks prior to this while I was driving; I stopped, put it into park and restarted it-it started right up-haven't had that problem since. Is there anything I can do to try and fix the problem before letting the shop have a go at it? Also, is there some place I can go to see what trim my truck has using the VIN?

P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction P1521 - Incorrect Engine Oil Type (viscosity; 10w30 instead of 5w30 for example) P0750 - Shift Solenoid A Malfunction P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction SXT is a base model "value" package -17" wheels and most of them have unpainted bumper skins and door mold SLT is an upper end "value" package that has more "goodies" -body-colored bumpers, chrome side mouldings, larger alloy wheels and tires, fog lights If your still not sure on trim model, look on your insurance verification. They will usually have something on there stating Laramie/slt/sxt/xt. Hope that helps you out.
