It might need a tune up if you do not have any red engine lights on. When was the last time you had a tune up and what is the mileage on the car?

It has 100k on it and she has owned car for a yr. The idling problem is intermittent. Could it be a vaccum hose somewhere

And no engine lights on. Took to advance auto to put machine on and no codes came up. He said the engine light needs to be on to pop out codes
