2006 cruiser won't start.. tried to start turned over a few times wouldn't stay running

the last time it died I tried to turnover ignition again
and starter not  engaging, no nothing except dash
lights. Please help

I should of mentioned I did try the hammer on the starter; still same issue. Also this year doesn't have a fuse box inside the car, only under the hood. Checked all relays and fuses everything is fine. I just learned about a wire harness under tire, and it may be corroded. That being the case the fuel pump doesn't get sufficient power therefore shutting car totally down.. looking for a friend here!!
